One of the most widely used services by exporters are those related to trade fairs / trade shows . In many Western countries, online sales to consumers are popular. However, most products are manufactured in Asia due to the low cost and no reliable mechanism has been developed yet to regulate international trade online.
Trade fairs / shows are still one of the most popular method by which sellers meet buyers and buyers can actually check the quality of the goods sold. They also check the latest industry trends, meet new suppliers and check out new equipment available.
Trade show / fair / exhibition related services include:
1. Organizing trade shows / fairs / exhibitions related to a particular industry. They are scheduled considering both the peak demand season and the weather
2. Keeping exporters informed about the latest trade fairs / shows
3. Organizing visits to trade shows / exhibitions in foreign countries including travel and accommodation .

Trade fairs or shows or exhibitions are events which are held periodically, where new products and services available for a particular industry are displayed. Though most trade fairs focus on a particular industry, there are a few exhibitions that will display products from a particular country, region or state. Most businesses will either display their products or at least visit major trade fairs, to keep themselves updated about the latest trends in the industry.
Since setting up a stall at a trade fair can be expensive, most trade show organisers try to ensure that exhibitors get the maximum benefit by participating. Many trade shows are open only to companies related to the industry - manufacturers, exporters, importers, vendors. Prior registration may be required and an entry pass is sent to relevant companies by the organisers as well as the exhibitors. A visiting card may also be needed. The embassies / consulates are informed about the trade fair so that interested companies from foreign countries can attend.
Some exhibitions are open to the general public. Consumer products are displayed at these exhibitions. Manufacturers and importers exhibit their products and often offer discounts to buyers .
